I believe in the good things coming

My January post was all about the new year and sharing with you my ‘word’ that would be the acting theme of the year. February is all about getting clearer on what we want to achieve in this life.

2018 flew by, and with this year marking 10 years since I graduated from college, I am starting to realize now more than ever how quickly time does go by, how planning out 10 years can arrive quicker than we think, and how by being mindful of this, we can use  it to our advantage.

There are things I wanted to achieve 10 years ago that I thought I would by now but haven’t, and there are things I definitely have.

The difference between the two? I was more clear about the goals I ended up achieving and took the necessary actions towards making things happen.

The other goals? Well, though I wanted them, they honestly just fell by the wayside, got pushed aside by other happenings of day to day life, became eventually ended up out of sight, out of mind.

Do I still want them? Why yes, yes I do. And I want them within the next 5,10, 15, 20, 30 years. That is how far out I’m starting to plan :-D

So in the middle of January, I started defining what I wanted in 12 categories of life. I took on 2 categories each week for 6 weeks, and in Feb, finished up what has now become my life manual, a road map of where I’m heading so I don’t get lost or forget. And I am SO excited to share a bit of it with you now, in hopes that it might inspire you to make your own so YOU live the life you desire and hit those GOALS. Woot Woot!

For each of the categories below, I listed all I wanted to have/achieve in that category, why I wanted it, how I visualized it looking in my life/for myself, and started a list of action steps I could start taking to head in my desired direction.

The 12 categories are:

Health & fitness

Intellectual

Emotions

Character

Spirituality

Love

Parenting

Social

Financial

Career

Quality of Life

Overall Life Vision

For each category, I also created little picture collages (created free via canva.com! I highly recommend checking it out) to insert in each chapter. It makes each chapter so beautiful and is so motivating and inspiring to look at, and gets me so EXCITED about the future! As a lyric goes in one of my favorite songs, “I believe in the good things coming, coming, coming”!

So now that this little project is done (or at least the rough draft; I’ll always continue to add/change it), It’s time to get down to work. I’m dedicating March and April to working on implementing the strategies I’ve come up with to start living a life that I’ve intentionally created and designed. I’m definitely excited to share updates with you down the road on this life project :D

So how about you? Do you have a document or journal that is your go-to vision/dream place, a place where you can keep track of all the things you want to do, go, see and be in this life? If not, are you interested in making one? I’d love to hear in the comments below!
